June 27 ~ July 4 --- IT'S ALMOST TIME TO BUILD A HOUSE!!
Thanks to so many for all
that has been done to get to this point.

Someone is trying to be patient...

In September Andrew and Tori arrived back to Chattanooga to a wonderful Homecoming at the Airport.  A few weeks after their Homecoming, the Steps2Hope 'kick-off' took place with a dinner at Lindsey Street Hall in Chattanooga.  Just over 100 people gathered to learn Andrew & Tori's amazing story and the generosity of those who attended that evening make it clear that the goal of building a specially adapted home to meet Andrew's specific needs could be a reality.  It was an amazing evening with an amazing group of people from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Chattanooga Christian School students and families whole heartedly supported their alumni Andrew Smith.  Andrew had attended CCS from Kindergarten through his 2005 graduation and his school showed the entire community what a true 'homecoming' looks like with expressions of love and support.  Students and parents purchased t-shirts and did $2for Drew Tuesdays and raised over $22,000 to go toward Andrew & Tori's home..
First Tennessee Bank supported TEAM ANDREW with $2 for DREW donations.  They sold t-shirts and collected donations for months collecting over $10,000 to go toward the house.
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga decided to incorporate the Team Andrew house project into their South Seas Week.  An entire week of activities centered around raising money to go toward the home for Andrew and Tori.  There are so many people to thank!  In the picture you will see one of the sand sculptures which were created as part of a competition by Sigma Kappa's South Seas Week Fundraiser for TEAM ANDREW.  This group of young people raised over $5000 for the project.
Kyle Smith led the fund raising initiative at Lee University within his club to become part of the Team Andrew project.  He came by and as he thanked Andrew for his service, he presented a check to Andrew & Tori.
The Hullander Farm hosted a good old fashioned country hoe-down in April to raise funds for Steps 2 Hope Team Andrew project.  There was corn bread, beans, dancing and lots of fun.  Andrew and Tori's future neighbors gathered to show their support and honored Andrew with this fun event.
Early spring three senior girls from Chattanooga Christian School set up a 5K Walk to benefit TEAM ANDREW and Steps2Hope.  Sarah Marshall, Mary Sabourin and Gracie Smith (Andrew's sister) worked hard to create this event.  Mary, Sarah & Gracie secured sponsors, designed and printed t-shirts, facilitated all the aspects of this event which was held on a beautiful March morning.  Many thanks to all those that supported this event, and thanks to the girls for the commitment that they showed to this cause.  The 5K 'Steps 4 Steps' Walk presented Steps 2 Hope with a check for over $7000.
April 22 marked the day that everyone got on their cowboy boots!  US101, Track29, WRCB and Luke Bryan all celebrated the 30th birthday of US101 with an amazing birthday party, which included an acoustic performance by the CMA Entertainer of the Year -- Luke Bryan.  Couture Cakes of Chattanooga baked a 'cake' model of Andrew & Tori's future home.  The tickets for this concert sold out in less than a minute and by the time the evening was over, a check was presented to Steps2Hope for over $52,000.
The Barefoot Mudders 2013 Run took place in early May to support Team Andrew and Steps 2 Hope.  The competitors who took part in this very messy event had a terrific time and supported a terrific cause.  This was a truly amazing event -- many thanks to the Barefoot Mudders organization for honoring Andrew.
